One of my favorite stories concerns a security bagel producer in a town in the south, not to be named (yes, there are sandwiches made – and eaten -) in the south. This was a small manufacturer of scale, which began as a simple baker and gradually sell their sandwiches, cakes and other baked goods to special grocery.
At first he had a fairly standard industrial refrigerator to keep the dough chilled. Later, when his business expanded, he built a new factory for other large-scale production, and in the living room, well insulated, cold, where he not only delivered quantities of pasta, fresh fruit was, but used to cakes and pies. The cold chamber was a major deal with the heat, the oven bleeding through the building.
He is very precise and careful, sir – let’s call him Mr. Reed has been in the absence of a better name – always made sure the doors are kept closed, windows closed, and all organized, how it could be. He also had a morbid fear of being stuck in the cold room, not out, I think he watched The Shining a few times too many. Andrew has lost his job, but there were a lot of “dough”, adopted by its content in the coming months.
Despite the terrible puns, this story always brings a smile to my face when I shake my head in surprise at Andrew’s negligence. But I also think that now that Mr. Reed was guilty. He could the disaster have been avoided – and losing for a small manufacturer to a couple of orders of the day “is a disaster – by installing a magnetic lock, automatic closer, a bar and panic.
The point is that even if a building is completely safe from unauthorized access, there are often internal spaces blocked or shut down safely. In trade, for example, storage cupboards, reception rooms, duplication and copy rooms and rooms for server computers often signs of “Keep the door closed.” For both the air-conditioning, as in the case of a computer system server (or storage of noodles) to avoid security (that open the doors blocking the corridor), or the safety of (the people) from the storage or recording studios, it are good reasons to ensure that they are kept closed.
